The place

A stunning garden set on the cliff tops of Cornwall, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The clients have made this house and gardens home for the last forty years and have slowly created an amazing garden to enjoy with their family and friends.

The brief

The client has a gardening team that maintains the ten acre site overlooking the sea on the Lizard peninsula. They wanted to draw on Ian’s horticultural expertise for advice on best practice and to discuss future developments within the garden.

Regular visits during changing seasons enabled a full understanding of the garden; its challenges, strengths and limitations. A full garden appraisal was delivered to the client, with written recommendations for improved methods of working, alternative planting and ideas for future development.
