About
Bespoke Garden Designer in North Devon
With more than 20 years’ experience in horticulture, garden design and education, I create bespoke, planting-led gardens across North Devon and the South West, carefully considering the landscape, architecture and the people who will enjoy the garden.
My approach begins with listening. Understanding how you want to use your garden, what you love about it and what you would like it to become is an important part of the design process. From there, I develop gardens that are practical, distinctive and rich in planting, while creating a strong connection between the garden, the surrounding landscape and your home.
My background combines professional garden design with a deep knowledge of horticulture. I hold the RHS’s highest horticultural qualification, the Master of Horticulture (MHort(RHS)), awarded in 2015. I have designed and maintained gardens ranging from intimate spaces to large country estates, giving me a broad understanding of both the creative and practical aspects of creating successful gardens.
Whilst a lecturer in horticulture and garden design at Bicton College and the RHS, I have loved helping to inspire the next generation of gardeners and horticultural professionals.
I am also a Horticultural Advisor for the RHS and a trustee of the Devon Gardens Trust.
My particular interest in historic gardens has led me to become involved in their research, conservation and future development along with helping to support the gardeners that care for these important gardens in Devon.
Today, I bring all of this experience together to create gardens that are beautiful, individual and connect with their setting and, most importantly, right for the people who live with them.
If you're considering transforming your garden, I'd be delighted to hear about your ideas and discuss how we could develop them into a considered, bespoke garden design.
